The good old days !

Remember when you were a child growing up and you stayed outside as long as you could. We would flip on dirty mattresses, play skelly, flip off of monkey bars, hoop on monkey bars and watch girls as they did there cheers, Victory was 1 of my favorites. These days children hardly get up from their computer or put their phones down for 2 seconds. I tell kids all of the time that they really don't know what fun is.
In The Box,Catch 1 Catch All. We used to dig up tar in the streets and get a milk gallon top and make skelly tops, later on we started buying putty to put in our tops,we would play different neighborhoods in basketball on milk crates, and play football on Sundays and we would be looking forward to it like it was a real game, that fun and passion has been replaced with Xbox and Play Station. Back in the days we worked on our games, these days working on our game is popping in 2K
or Madden sharpening up your skills so that you can maintain bragging rights in the hood, I'm guilty of that myself because if u are a gamer you take pride in your game and you can't have everybody in the hood knowing that you are free cheese(easy to beat for money). I just wish that these kids could experience some of the fun things that we did when we were younger, do you even tell your kids about the fun that you used to have growing up? Technology has definately changed things but it doesn't hurt to go down memory lane sometimes just to think about how growing up has shaped you as an individual. That's something that some people never really paid attention to. Those nights of not having nothing has shaped your survival skills and your ambition if you really think about it. If you let people borrow your wrestling men or Barbie dolls and never got them back you probably have trust
issues. If you were the leader of your click back in the days your probably a supervisor or have a leadership position our your own business. I just want you to look at things from a wider   perspective of how growing up shaped us and helped us with our character, ambition and even our health. A click of a mouse and a joystick are what's making our children content in my opinion, I hope you took a trip down memory lane with me, feel free to comment or even talk about some experiences growing up and how it shaped you as an individual.

Thrifty Thursday

With all of the baby showers, birthdays, and engagements I bet you find yourself stressing about money, it seems like there a event every week!!!!!! But there is a way to save your pockets and still give a nice present. Recently, Ericka and I attended a baby shower of a friend and we both we low on cash, we decided to make a gift basket. Sounds corny right? No we just headed to our local dollar store and bought a bunch of miscellaneous items dealing with baby showers. An this can go for personal care, toys, anything. After we purchased everything we bought a basket, tissue paper, plastic wrap, and ribbons and went to work. So next time you need a gift I guarantee you can't go wrong with gift baskets.
